Peacock Calathea

Calathea Makoyana "Peacock" is a  glamouras looking house plant that gets it name because of how the leaves resemble peacock feathers with a pale green leaf dotted with dark ovals and fine lines. A member of the prayer plant family, it shows off its reddish-purple underside every morning and evening as the plant moves its leaves up and down to “pray” due to a joint between the leaf and the stem. Rain water is the drink of choice for this beauty as the fluoride that is added to tap water can burn the leafs edge. The plants prefer a humid environment, like a kitchen or bathroom. This plant prefers a humid environment, such as a kitchen or bathroom, medium light, and to be watered when the top soil is dry 1" down. Available in 6" or 4" pots.
