Baseball Plant (Jatropha Berlandieri)
This plant is famous for its above ground, baseball-shaped, woody trunk (caudex) at the base of the plant. In nature, this base is underground and is used to store water for survival in its desert-like habitat. The leaves are a bright to deep green and palm-shaped with 5-7 lobes. Clusters of poppy-red flowers bloom from spring to summer. This succulent prefers full sun and to be watered when soil is completely dry. Plant will go dormant in winter where leaves will die off and does not require water. Available in 6" pots.
