Peperomia Marble
Peperomia obtusifolia ‘Marble’ is a beautifully variegated form of the Baby Rubber Plant, Peperomia ‘Marble’ features thick, glossy leaves marbled in swirls of creamy yellow, light green, and deep emerald. Its compact, upright growth and semi-succulent foliage make it an easy, low-maintenance choice for bright indoor spaces. Each leaf has its own unique pattern, giving every plant a one-of-a-kind look.
Light : Thrives in bright, indirect light. Too little light can dull its marbling, while direct sun may scorch the leaves.
Water : Allow the soil to dry about halfway between waterings. Water thoroughly, then let any excess drain away. Overwatering is the most common cause of stress for Peperomias.
Soil : Use a well-draining mix such as a succulent or houseplant blend with added perlite or orchid bark for aeration.
Bloom : May produce slender, creamy-white flower spikes. The blooms are subtle, but they indicate a healthy, mature plant.
Propagation : Propagate easily from stem or leaf cuttings. Allow cuttings to dry briefly before placing in water or moist soil to root.
Fun Fact : Like many Peperomias, ‘Marble’ is an epiphyte in nature—meaning it often grows on tree bark rather than in soil, drawing moisture from the air and rain. This makes it especially tolerant of drier indoor conditions.
