Rattlesnake Calathea (Calathea lancifolia)

One of the easier plants to care for in the Prayer Plant family. The perfect plant for tropical collectors, the wavy textured leaves have alternating dark green ovals on a bright green leaf. The reddish-purple underside of the leaf adds to the beauty of this plant and is displayed every morning and evening as the plant moves its leaves up and down to "pray" due to a joint between the leaf and the stem. Calathea prefer medium to bright, indirect light and to be watered when the top soil is dry 1" down. The plants prefer a humid environment, like a kitchen or bathroom, when possible. Available in 6" pots.
